Brishna Amin Khan
Brishna Amin Khan is a Lahore based artist. She completed her masters degree in visual art from BNU and bachelor from NCA in 2019 with a
major in miniature painting and minor in Calligraphy and Performance art. During the summers Khan lived in her Murree apartment and there she
experienced the true beauty of nature in all its glory. This inspired her to create visuals that capture its essence through serene landscapes. A place
where nature flourishes in bliss and bids the viewer to take delight in every tree, every flower, every cloud and blade of grass. During her 2nd year in
NCA She exhibited her skill in miniature painting in a group show titled Forty-One in Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq Gallery Lahore. From then on, she participated
in various group shows nationally and internationally along with solo shows highlighting the breathtaking beauty and resilience of nature.
In a way nature does not exist in its true form as it is constantly molded by humans so the final result from which we take inspiration from, is an altered
form of nature. So it’s interesting to think that in current times this aesthetic appreciation we have for nature may not be true as we have altered
nature to fit our aesthetic. If so then why can’t we through art aid nature to achieve its full potential.
As Aristotle believed that art can represent nature in all its glory and Goethe states man’s ideas and nature are equally important when it comes to
the creative process of making art as each is a reflection of the other. It’s within the relationship of the two where true beauty lies.
Therefore art can represent the picture which nature is trying to create and in turn allow nature to become that self-actualised form. We’re all
interconnected and constantly re-shaping each other and this work represents that in a way where both can coexist in harmony.
